RETURNS

Our refund policy (money-back guarantee) lasts 60 days. If 60 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a cash refund. However, if additional warranty was included in your order, you’ll be fully covered for the warranty term to receive free repairs and replacements.

Why the 60-day cut-off? :

It’s essential to understand the difference between ‘Warranty’ and ‘Money-back guarantee’/’Return policy’, as these terms are frequently used interchangeably in business. For instance, when you receive a warranty on a new appliance (e.g., fridge/oven), it means that the manufacturer will support that product for the warranty term (1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years+, etc.). They will repair it for free, send engineers to assess it for free, or send you a new one. A “10 Year Money-back Guarantee” is unheard of. Money-back guarantees typically have shorter terms, e.g., 14 days, 30 days, 60 days, etc. Insurance is also different from a warranty. In our case, we offer a 60-day money-back guarantee, which is above market average and considered generous by most customers, especially in the laptop/electronics industry.

Therefore, for the first 60 days of your purchase, you are covered by our money-back policy terms, and after that, you are covered by our warranty terms (if purchased).

The good news is that you are fully covered for any faults the laptop may have (if the warranty is purchased). The laptop will be fully supported during the entire warranty period, be it 1, 2, or 3 years. This includes free technical IT advice, free parts, free repairs, and free replacements, ensuring you always have a fully working laptop during that period. All of this is included as part of the warranty you purchased.

Return/Refund terms :

To be eligible for a return for a full refund (within 60 days), your item must be in the same condition that you received it in (no additional marks, scratches, cracks, or damage). In the case of a warranty exchange, we allow some reasonable leniency regarding the condition, as it would be unrealistic to expect the item to be in the same state after, for example, 1 or 2 years of use. Any significant physical damage, like broken screens, will negatively impact the refund or warranty process.

To complete your return, we require proof of order (e.g., order number, email, buyer details, etc.).

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
Refunds are issued immediately, however, depending on your bank’s processing time, it can take anywhere from 5-10 business days to reflect on statements. If you haven’t received a refund after the stated timeframe, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at contact@gcentre.co.uk.

‘Repair or Replace’ – Warranty terms :

Batteries are tested for 1 hour on standby before shipping. Please note that batteries and charger cables are not covered under the laptop warranty, as they are considered consumable items that naturally deteriorate over time, similar to changing oil or break pads on a car over time. Customers are responsible for replacing these items as needed.

Our ‘Repair or Replace’ warranty means that we’d first attempt a repair, if the laptop is deemed as ‘beyond repair’ by our technicians, or the repair is deemed as unfeasible, we would then opt to have it fully replaced for a totally different newly refurbished laptop, completely free of charge under warranty.

Regarding data loss and recovery, we cannot be held liable for any data loss, as it is the user’s responsibility to maintain up-to-date backups of essential data. It’s commonly known in IT that drives and storage mediums can sometimes be unreliable and fail with no prior warning, thus the risk of data loss is always present. However, we will make a good-faith effort to recover data when possible(at no obligation/commitment, and no guarantee). In the worst-case scenario, we will provide a replacement drive with a fresh Windows installation.

To maintain your warranty coverage, the laptop must only be repaired by us. Any third-party or DIY repairs will void the warranty. We encourage you to make use of the warranty you’ve invested in by contacting us if any issues arise. Attempting to fix the laptop yourself or using someone who will repair it at “mates rates” can end up more expensive compared to contacting us directly and getting it repaired free of charge under warranty. We can only ensure and guarantee the quality of our repair work and parts, and not those of others.

Please note that our laptop Repair Or Replace warranty only covers non-accidental damage that occurs during normal use. It does not cover theft or any sort of damage to the laptop. So for example, if your laptop stops working or suddenly slows down through no fault of your own, you are fully covered by the warranty!

Processing times for warranty claims: Please note that we aim to process all warranty claims within a reasonable timeframe, however, turnaround times are subject to current company workloads, and delays may be experienced. However, every single warranty claim will always be processed. Please note we are unable to provide exact timeframes, and are not liable for any losses that may be incurred due to delays in processing warranty claims. To avoid disturbances, we advise all customers to arrange a temporary device they can use while their laptop is undergoing the warranty process.

For cases where the reported issue turns out to be a non-issue or a user-imposed condition (nothing to actually fix), for example: “Speakers not working”, but it was just the mute setting enabled. Or, “My computer is very slow”, but it just had excessive amounts of junk software installed, etc, then a £35 postage & handling fee will be incurred. The free postage offered in our warranty coverage is only eligible for genuine claims where real issues are present.
