FAQ
As our laptops are all professionally refurbished & renewed, it means that there will always be some light signs of past usage. However, we have a cosmetic grading system in place to grade our laptop’s general condition. The grades are A+, A, B, and C.
Grade A+ : Pristine
Grade A : Nearly new / minor use
Grade B : Good
Grade C : Heavy marks
As a rule of thumb, we only sell laptops that score between Grade A+ / Grade B cosmetically. All other laptops that score outside this range are repurposed in our recycling process, such as being broken down for parts, and aren’t sold to customers.
You may input custom requests which you wish us to consider when prepping your laptop. This can include :
• Preferred colour
• Preferred brand
• Preferred keyboard layout
• Additional ports
• Any other specific requirements
When you get to the last page of checkout, it’ll give you an option to add a note/message to your order. Simply add a message with your requirements. We’ll see this note on our end when your order comes through and will process it accordingly.
Please note that custom requests which go beyond the drop-down options available are simply preferences, and can not be 100% guaranteed. Although we’ll act in best faith and attempt to accommodate where possible.
(Drop-down options remain fully guaranteed and certain)
Models/brands are picked at random when an order comes through. We refurbish laptops from Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Lenovo and others. During the refurbishment process, we will prep the laptop with your desired specs(CPU/RAM/SSD) along with any other requests.
We use common sense to determine the nicest looking laptops that will appeal to the general public, regardless of personal taste. E.g: modern looking, not too thick/bulky, minor marks, etc.
All our laptops come in standard colours (black/white/grey/silver). We avoid flashy colours like green/purple/red, etc. Thus, we can appeal to everyone with the standardised uniform colours, instead of focusing on very specific colours that only some will like.
For extra reassurance, we’ve got a super flexible and generous “Right To Try” return policy. More details on this can be found on the product page.
The first section of options (CPU / RAM / Storage) are the physical parts(specs) that will be going into the laptop. These parts have a direct impact on performance and speed. Below we will provide a brief and simplified definition of what each one means, without getting into too much IT technicalities and jargon.
CPU:
The CPU(also known as the processor) is the central hub chip of the computer. As the name suggests, this is what is responsible for processing tasks, some like to call it the “brain” of the computer.
RAM:
RAM is the memory allocated strictly to the system for its own usage.
(Unlike storage, which is allocated for personal files)
The more RAM a computer has, the more “breathing space” it has to do certain tasks, for example, having multiple browsing tabs and programs open, and other multitasking abilities. For instance, RAM can be viewed as “fast brain memory” required for doing tasks & jobs, on the other hand, storage is more like a “backpack” to store your personal belongings.
Storage:
As mentioned above, storage is the amount of capacity allocated to your personal files. If you’re someone who downloads a lot of large files like movies, music, etc, then you’re going to want more storage to ensure you don’t run out of space.
All our laptops come with the standard ports you’d expect on any laptop. Multiple USB ports (2.0 & 3.0), HDMI/DP port, audio jack port(both microphone & sound), ethernet port, SD card reader, etc. If there is anything we’d like to focus on in particular, this is possible. When you get to the last page of checkout, it’ll give you the option to add a note/message to your order. Simply add a message saying, for example: “Ensure the SD card reader fully working”. We’ll see this note on our end when your order comes through and will process it accordingly.
Yes, all our laptops come with the operating system pre-installed. Simply pick from Windows 10 or 11 when choosing your options.
If you have selected a shorter warranty period (e.g: 1 year) and wish to extend it after purchase, you can do so by contacting us.
(We will charge you the difference for the new warranty period)
When it comes down to gaming, most games rely a lot on the GPU (graphics card), while some older entry-level games reply more on CPU.
Like most laptops, the GPU will be on-board integrated graphics, as part of the CPU. The majority of mainstream laptops do not have a dedicated separate graphics card like desktop PCs, apart from laptops specifically designed and marketed as ‘gaming laptops’ on the market. However, these ‘gaming laptops’ are usually in a totally different price band (£600 – £900+). While our main focus is around refurbishing budget laptops(£190 – £390) that can still do high-powered heavy duty processing, especially with our Intel Core i7 range. Integrated on-board graphics as part of the CPU, is suitable for most entry-level games, but not the highest-end graphic demanding games.
A good call to action would be if you could provide us with a quick brief list of the games/programs you plan on running. We can then look up their system requirements online and see if we got anything in stock that matches it before you place your order.
If you wish to buy large amounts of laptops from us, please contact us regarding trade discounts.
Currently we only ship to the United Kingdom.
We dispatch all our orders via tracked and express carriers (DPD), meaning that you can keep an eye on your parcel while it makes it’s way to you. In addition to that, all orders are sent with signature requirement, which is highly important on high-value orders. DPD offer maximum delivery convenience by giving all deliveries a 1-hour time slot, so you know exactly when to expect your parcel, along with allowing you to:
• Set a safe place
• Select a neighbour
• Book a specific delivery day
• pick up from a parcel shop
• and more!
Never miss a delivery again!
None of our laptops are pre-made ‘off-the-shelf’ ready to go. Each and every laptop order needs to be bespoke prepped to each customer’s custom selected options. This means that orders carry a handling time for our team to be able to carefully put together each individual order with the parts & specs requested. Along with taking it through our in-depth Quality Control and cosmetic renewal process, such as respraying and skin wrapping.
Christmas Notice – Increased order volume and delays:
Please note that due to a high influx in recent orders (Black Friday + Christmas sales), handling and processing time is currently at 8-12 working days. We highly recommend placing time-sensitive Christmas gift orders well in advance, along with emailing in after placing your order letting us know that the order is a time-sensitive Christmas gift.
You will receive an automated shipping notification email once your laptop has been put together and processed. Once shipped, all ordered are delivered next day via DPD.
